This year's festival will include hundreds of wines from around the world, representing both established tradition and exciting new trends in winemaking. We realize you receive many invitations, please consider joining us in breathtaking Crested Butte, Colorado for our fifth year of extraordinary food and wine events.

Known as one of Colorado's “true” ski towns, its charming ambiance and friendly people go hand in hand with the indescribable beauty of the area and the myriad of summer activities. Crested Butte has long been one of Colorado's best-kept secrets.

Festival Dates: Thursday , July 19 — Saturday, July 21

Grand Tasting: The signature wine event of the Festival, the Grand Tasting will be hosted at the base of the Crested Butte Mountain ski area, just outside the Lodge at Mountaineer Square. 400-500 guests : : Saturday, July 28 : : 4 to 7 pm

VIP Events

Many wineries enjoy participating in additional events, for added exposure. We will attempt to include as many participants as possible in these, on a first-come first-served basis. Please indicate which additional event(s) you are interested in and we will contact you with more information.

Opening Night Reception: Held the evening of Thursday, July 19, from 4:30 - 6:00 PM, the Festival will be hosting its VIP party for Festival sponsors, wineries, chefs and media, and other invited guests. Anticipate 100 guests.

Reserve Tasting: Due to an overwhelming success in 2011, we will host an exclusive Reserve Tasting at the 2012 festival. . Guests will have a chance to enjoy intimate conversation with winemakers and wine experts on bottles that retail at $65 or more. Tickets are $125 per person; anticipate 60 guests. NO table fee.

James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour Dinners (exclusive): The most prestigious events of the Crested Butte Wine & Food Festival are the Celebrity Chef Tour dinners benefiting the James Beard Foundation. Renowned chefs create multi-course dinners paired with premium wines. Tickets are anticipated to be $200 per person. Seating is limited for each of these special events.

Wine Seminars / Culinary Demonstrations / Wine Dinners: The Festival will be filled with food and wine events hosted by many local restaurants and other partners. Colorado Mountain Events can match you up with these owners to create the perfect event.

Colorado Mountain Events will produce the Grand Tasting event, seminars, the James Beard dinner and the opening reception for the weekend. Local restaurants may also to produce a variety and format of food and wine events - wine seminars, culinary demonstrations, wine dinners, or whatever creative format they can develop, and we will include those events in the official program if the information is submitted by the deadline.

Lodging Information
Confirmed participating winery and distributor representatives will receive discounted lodging at Crested Butte Mountain Resort:

  • Through our partnership with Crested Butte Mountain Resort, the Festival is proud to extend discounted room rates to winery representatives. With discounted nightly rates, there is no other wine event in Colorado that can offer you such a great rate in such a beautiful place.   • For invited winemakers and winery owners, the Festival is proud to extend one room for two nights with our compliments. Please limit one room stay per winery. Our allocation is limited for these rooms. Once these first-come, first-serve rooms are accounted for, we are pleased to extend the winery rate.
